Climate plan faces test in Montana coal country

COLSTRIP, Mont. (AP) Gov. Steve Bullock asserts Montana can meet the Obama administration's climate goals without losing jobs or shutting coal plants. The view from the coal-centered town of Colstrip is much more pessimistic.

A Tuesday public meeting hosted by state regulators revealed deep concerns that meeting emission reduction targets would spell economic trouble for Colstrip.

VETERAN SPORT FUNDING

Fed funds go to injured vet sport program in ND

Sports programs for disabled veterans in North Dakota are getting $70,000 in federal funds.

U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp says the funds authorized by the Department of Veteran Affairs will go toward developing and managing skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, hiking and fishing programs for disabled veterans at Bottineau Winter Park.
